VT Gov. Douglas to Speak at National Press Club Thursday
[An invitation from Matt Mlynarczyk of the Advocatus Group]
National Governor’s Association Chairman, Vermont Governor Douglas to Speak on Health Reform at Thursday, Sept. 17 Luncheon
Vermont Governor Jim Douglas, Chair of the National Governors Association, will address a September 17 luncheon on the critical role of states in national health reform.
High-quality, affordable health care continues to be a top priority for Governor Douglas; in 2003, he launched the Blueprint for Health to transform Vermont’s health care system.
As Congress takes steps toward passing national health reform legislation, states want their voices to be heard and their role as federal health care implementation partners noted.
At the luncheon, Governor Douglas will discuss his new year-long initiative that focuses on opportunities for states to contribute to the success of national health reform and the importance of state efforts to help all citizens have access to more coordinated and efficient health care.
The luncheon begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. To make reservations, call 202-662-7501 or e-mail pnelson@press.org. Cost of the luncheon is $17 for National Press Club members, $28 for their guests, $16 for students (with ID), and $35 for the general public.
To submit a question in advance, put DOUGLAS in the subject line and email to president@press.org. Questions must be submitted before 11:00 a.m. on the day of the luncheon; you may submit a question whether or not you are able to attend.
