Vermont Arts Council “Arts in Action” Exhibit on Capitol Hill
Timed to coincide with national Arts Advocacy Day (April 13th), the Vermont Arts Council, and Senator Patrick Leahy are bringing the “Arts in Action” art exhibit to the Senate Russell Rotunda to be viewed throughout next week (details here).
The Arts Council is producing and delivering the ART OF ACTION: SHAPING
VERMONT’S FUTURE THROUGH ART in collaboration with visionary
philanthropist Lyman Orton and Janice Izzi.
This project commissions visual artists to create suites of artwork
that address issues identified by Vermonters as essential to our
state’s future.
All of the artwork is available for sale, with proceeds used to seed a new round
of the project in 2011-12. The Vermont Arts Council is hoping to create the nation’s first
statewide, self-sustaining arts based program that is independent of
external funding or underwriting, so take away a piece of the ‘Action’
for yourself.
