Thank You & What’s Next for the Vermont State Society

February 4th, 2009
Thank You!
On Sunday, January 18th, the Vermont State Society held its first major event, an Inaugural Reception for just over 500 guests.  The Society would like to thank everyone who came out that wonderful evening to celebrate the changing of a president, visit with old friends, and launch this new organization.
The event was a success for a number of reasons, but it could not have happened without the outstanding support from almost twenty Vermont companies and individuals.  In the months and years to come, we hope to continue to support these companies the way they supported us.
The businesses that participated in the Inaugural Reception, and the products they donated, are:
• National Life Group, Montpelier - financial contribution
• Ben & Jerry’s, South Burlington – “Yes PeCan!” ice cream
• Magic Hat Brewery, South Burlingtion – assorted beer
• Dakin Farms, Ferrisburgh – maple glazed hams and mustard
• Mocha Joe’s, Brattleboro – “Mocha JoeBama” regular and decaf coffee
• Shelburne Farms, Shelburne – cheddar cheese and crackers
• Jasper Hill Farms, Greensboro – assorted cheese
• Danforth Pewter, Middlebury – assorted picture frames and jewelry for raffle
• Champlain Farms, Shoreham – apple cider and fresh apples
• The Cabot Creamery, Cabot – cheese and items for raffle
• Ma Bean’s Vermont Pie Company, Bondville – apples pies

What’s Next?

The future of the Vermont State Society is bright.  We have scheduled an organizational meeting for Tuesday, March 3rd, to coincide with our beloved Vermont Town Meeting Day.  At that meeting we will formally confirm the Society officers, organization by-laws and discuss potential events and future activities. We will send out a notice for that meeting soon.
Over the next few months, the VTSS.org website will be expanded to serve our community better.  We envision more interaction and networking among members, including a forum and photo gallery as well.  We hope the website will serve our membership in DC and to the benefit of Vermont as well.

Thank you!
